What to Expect at Your First Visit

Seeing a surgeon can feel overwhelming. My goal at your first visit is simple: to understand what you’re going through and help you get back to the life you want to live. Surgery is not always the first or best step. When it is the right option, we will talk about why and when. When it is not, we will focus on other ways to help you feel better.

    • Talk through your symptoms and concerns

    • Review your imaging and prior treatments

    • Perform a thorough physical exam

    • Discuss all treatment options, not just surgery

    • Build a plan together, based on your goals

You are an active part of every decision. This is a shared conversation, not a one-way recommendation.

    • We treat patients like family

    • You will have our full attention during your visit

    • We use technology to take notes so we can focus on you

    • Visits may occasionally run behind if another patient needs extra time

      • When it’s your turn, you will receive that same level of care

    • You may see Dr. Todd Pitts or Physician Assistant Morgan Unga

    • We work closely together in clinic and surgery

    • If you want to speak directly with Dr. Pitts at any point, just let us know

      • We are always happy to make that happen

    • Photo ID

    • Insurance card (if applicable)

    • Referral paperwork or prior records

    • Questions about your symptoms and goals

Knowing what you want to get back to helps us tailor your care.

    • A clear understanding of your condition

    • A personalized treatment plan

    • Referrals, prescriptions, or imaging orders if needed

    • Supportive equipment (brace, boot, crutches) when appropriate

Most importantly, you’ll leave knowing you have options and a plan you feel confident in.
